Often perceived through the lens of difficulties, Cameroonian youth are in fact at the heart of a dynamic transformation. Driven by public policies initiated by President Paul Biya and strengthened by their own resilience, they have established themselves as the driving force of an ambitious Cameroon, looking firmly toward the future.
One of the major achievements of recent decades remains the expansion of access to education. Cameroon now has state universities in all ten regions of the country, alongside more than 420 private institutions of higher learning and professional training centers. This diversified offer allows thousands of young people to acquire the skills needed to enter the labor market and contribute to national development.
Supporting Projects and Creating Opportunities
Beyond education, the State has multiplied initiatives to support professional integration. The Special Three-Year Youth Plan launched by President Paul Biya has enabled thousands of project leaders to turn their entrepreneurial ambitions into reality. More recently, MINESUP and MINJEC launched a call for projects to finance 5,000 start-ups, reaffirming the government’s determination to support innovation. The President of the Cameroon National Youth Council (CNJC) also confirmed the creation of 10,000 jobs in the environmental sector, the result of a joint commitment between youth and institutions. Several flagship initiatives of MINJEC, such as the Multifunctional Youth Promotion Centers, testify to this dynamic of proximity which is turning ambition into concrete results.
Sport and Culture: An International Showcase
Sport and culture are major drivers of expression and influence. Modern infrastructures have been built, and international competitions have been organized, offering young Cameroonian athletes a platform to shine. On the cultural front, the artistic creativity of young people continues to showcase Cameroon beyond its borders, reinforcing national identity while enhancing the country’s image abroad.
A Resilient and Creative Youth
Although some young people sometimes express frustration or disillusionment with socio-economic challenges, this has in no way diminished their creativity or capacity for innovation. In both urban neighborhoods and rural communities, they invent, create start-ups, and build solutions adapted to their environment. This resilience has become a hallmark of Cameroonian youth, who prove every day that they are ready to face the challenges of both the present and the future.
A Clear Vision for the Future
President Paul Biya has always affirmed: “Youth is the spearhead of the Nation.” This is not a simple slogan but a commitment, translated into action, that shapes the future. Rallying behind him means choosing the path of trust, experience, and clarity. It means believing that our youth—supported and guided—will lead Cameroon toward a solid, radiant, and ambitious future.
Far from fatalistic narratives, Cameroon can count on an ambitious, resilient, and inventive youth, ready to write the story of a strong and prosperous nation.
