Ministry of Public Works: The infrastructures of the seven-year term

Sep 22, 2025 Camille Assanji

Between 2018 and 2025 , Cameroon made significant progress in the development of its road network. In line with the vision of the Great Opportunities, the Head of State placed roads and bridges at the center of the nation’s modernization agenda, with the goal of improving mobility, strengthening national integration, and driving economic growth.

During this period, several landmark projects were launched: the reconstruction of the Ngaounddere-Garoua road, the Logone River Bridge, the modernization of key regional roads, as well as vital projects to open up rural and agricultural areas. These efforts improved the movement of goods and people, reduced travel times, and boosted both domestic and sub-regional trade.

The official figures highlight the scale of this commitment: 2020-2024, 2,077. 13 kilometers of roads were paved and 1,176.83km were  rehabilitated, new bridges, and other strategic infrastructure projects. Together, these investments reflect not only the scale of resources devoted but also the determination to build an emerging Cameroon—better connected and firmly oriented toward the future.
